“Hogaaaan!” Col. Wilhelm Klink was forever flustered by Col. Robert Hogan (Bob Crane) and his band of Allied prisoners of war. He always put on a brave face and claimed “no one has ever escaped from Stalag 13.” We know better, though.

Played by Werner Klemperer (who took the role only on the condition that the Germans never got to win) Klink is one of the most memorable characters in TV history. Klemperer guest starred in many films and TV shows prior to Hogan’s Heroes but he’ll forever be Col. Kink in the hearts of fans. Klink and his befuddled Sergeant Schultz (John Banner) never could outsmart Hogan and his team. Even the somewhat more adept General Burkhalter (Leon Askin) was no match for Hogan. Klemperer was the son of famed conductor Otto Klemperer.

The show ran from 1965 to 1971. It’s a staple on MeTV nowadays.

The painting of Werner Klemperer as Klink measures 16 inches by 20 inches and is painted in oil. This one-of-a-kind, original artwork will ship FRAMED. Posed in front of one of the POW camp barracks, Klink’s open mouth seems to be frozen in a perpetual cry of “Hogaaaan!” as he’s outsmarted once more. Hang this portrait on the wall of YOUR barracks!
