William Conrad (1920-1994) made a name for himself in radio before becoming a well-know TV star. He was the voice of Marshal Matt Dillon on radio’s Gunsmoke. His distictive voice can be heard on the introductory narration of the film “Battle of the Bulge.” He appeared in the series “Jake and the Fat Man” in the 1980s, but he’s best remembered as private eye Frank Cannon in the eponymous show which ran from 1971-1976.

If you look up WIlliam Conrad, you’ll be surprised to see he was a fighter pilot in World War II. Obviously he was a lot thinner back then. I can’t imagine him trying to fit into a cockpit with the girth he had during the “Cannon” series run!

This original, handmade screen print measures 11′ x 13 7/8″ and is printed on watercolor paper. The yellow and blue rectangles highlighting his head and chest give this a bit of a retro feel. For fans of MeTV (where Cannon currently has a long-running home) this will make a great addition to their collection. Note: some imperfections are visible in each print but are minor. Each one will be shipped in the order of the run. The first print in the run will be sold first, the second one after that, etc.. Earlier prints have less (or no) imperfections. There are 12 prints available. Sales are first come, first served and are final. All screen prints ship UNFRAMED.

If you enjoy watching classic TV like I do I think you’ll love having Frank Cannon in your home!
