The Admiral

Richard Basehart is probably best known to fans as Admiral Harriman Nelson from the Irwin Allen sci-fi series “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” which ran from 1964-1968. An accomplished actor with roles in film and television from the 1940’s through the 1980s, he, along with David Hedison were the faces of that iconic series. Of course who can forget the trouble-prone character of Kowalski (Del Monroe) who seemed to get hit over the head in each episode. Monroe also appeared in the movie on which the series was based.
